Story: Savouring Subiaco
Episode: 13
Presenter: Stuart Laws
Air Date: 10th September
Stuart takes his explorations to Subiaco to see some of the new spots that have popped up in recent times.
- Subiaco has had a multitude of new venues come on line in the last few years that are worthy of exploring, from hotspots like Sub Continental, Luis and Bar Amelie to Headliners and cult favourites like Lulu La Delizia, Subiaco Hotel, Woodpeckers, Juanita’s and Cherubino City Cellar.
- Bark aims to make all visitors to feel welcome and at home when they arrive – like they’re walking into their mate’s lounge room or their holiday home down south. This is seen in both their food and drinks menus (modern takes on Australian classics) as well as their welcoming, personal service.
- Bark host popular, ongoing events such as “Jazz and Shiraz” (live Jazz every Wednesday night) and “Bottoms Up!”, their regular Saturday afternoon bottomless event. They also take part in seasonal events such as Subi Spritz, Urban Beer Crawl, Good Spirits Stroll and Urban Wine Walk which is coming up in November.
- Yiamas is the newcomer from the team behind Community Coffee Co and Vinotto Wine Bar to the Subiaco dining scene, opening in March this year but already having established a regular crowd of salivating fans.
- Yiamas takes inspiration from ancient Greek cuisine with a focus on Levantine and Cypriot influence. The charcoal grill is used throughout the menu to bring a charred theme across the menu.
